Another Prolonged Amazon Web Services Outage Impacts Thousands of Online ServicesNews
Over the years, Amazon’s internet infrastructure service, dubbed the Amazon Web Services, has become the backbone of many online services and applications. Hence, a small outage has a massive effect on the services attached to the platform.
The core provider of internet infrastructure services went through a major outage yesterday, and since then, its spotty uptime has caused significant issues to thousands of services. Almost all major cloud-based software apps that rely on AWS for their backend are currently impacted, from Adobe Spark to Roku and from Flickr to Autodesk. Other impacted services also include smart devices that cannot access their private cloud, cryptocurrency portals, and streaming and podcast services.
Most of these services are announcing an outage via Twitter. At the same time, users have taken to DownDetector to report an outage on services like Ring, Prime Music, Pokemon Go, Roku, MeetUp.com, League of Legends, Anchestry.com, Chime, and others.
